Rrf2 family of transcription factors comprises widespread in Bacteria family of regulators that control diverse metabolic processes including (i) FeS cluster biogenesis (IscR) [16677314], (ii) nitric oxide-detoxification systems (NsrR) [16261196], (iii) iron uptake (RirA) [17173478], (iv) cysteine metabolism (CymR) [21624051] and photosynthesis [19692537]. DNA binding activity of Rrf2-family regulators is controlled via diverse mechanisms.
