Collection of regulogs for SoxR transcription factor

Transcription factor SoxR from the MerR protein family regulates superoxide response regulons in Proteobacteria. It was first identified in E. coli as a [2Fe-2S]-containing sensor-regulator, which is activated through oxidation by redox-active compounds [25490746]. The SoxR repressor in E.coli and other Enterobacteria is a part of regulatory cascade with the SoxS transcriptional activator of superoxide response regulon [8306957]. However, in other Proteobacteria including Pseudomonas and Streptomyces spp., SoxR regulons lack the genes required for stress responses. In Pseudomonas aeruginosa, SoxR regulates the efflux of phenazines via the RND transporter MexGHI-OpmD [18755976].
