IclR family of transcription factors includes diverse regulators that are involved the control of primary and secondary metabolism, virulence, multidrug resistance, degradation of aromatics, quorum sensing, and sporulation [22382436]. The IclR family comprises regulators acting as repressors, activators and proteins with a dual role [16472303]. IclR-family regulators collectively respond to wide variety of environmental signals, including glyoxylate, pyruvate, 4-nitrotoluene, benzonitrile, glycerol, glucose, 1-hexanol, succinic semialdehyde, allantoin, and many others. IclR-family regulators consist of two characteristic domains, an N-terminal HTH DNA binding domain (PF09339) and a C-terminal effector binding domain (PF01614). more
