Collection of regulogs for Rex transcription factor family

General statistics
TF regulogs 18
TF regulons 156
TF binding sites 1134

Rex family of transcription factors includes NADH-responsive repressors that control central carbohydrate and energy metabolism and fermentative growth in Gram-positive bacteria [21521360, 22210771, 23417491, 23028612, 22576944] and the Thermotogales [22210771]. Rex regulators act as sensors of the intracellular NADH/NAD(+) redox state through direct binding of effector molecules, NADH or NAD(+) [21402078]. Under the low NADH:NAD(+) ratio, Rex proteins bind to the target sites and blocks expression of downstream genes, while the increase of NADH concentration results in the dissociation of Rex from DNA and derepression of target genes [22210771]. more
