Transcription factor Phr from ArsR family controls the heat shock response genes in diverse lineages of Archaea. It was originally studied in Pyrococcus and Thermococcus spp. [12381724, 19887527]. Phr specifically represses the expression of heat shock genes at physiological temperature in vitro and in vivo but is released from the promoters upon heat shock response.
