Transcription factor PhsR was predicted by comparative genomics as a regulator for thiosulfate respiration in Gammaproteobacteria. This transcriptional factor belongs to the LuxR family and functions as a component of a two-component system, named PhsS-PhsR. We used comparative genomics approach to predict DNA binding motifs and reconstruct transcriptional regulons for PhsR regulators in Gammaproteobacteria.
