Collection of Manually Curated Inferences of Regulons in Prokaryotic Genomes
-- version 1.7 --

Regulon Collections

Regulon is a set of genes and operons in a particular organism that are co-regulated by a particular transcription factor (TF) and are preceded by cis-acting TF binding sites (TFBSs). Regulog is a group of regulons operated by orthologous TFs in a group of related genomes. TFBSs attributed to one regulog are described a common TFBS motif profile.

Regulogs are combined into collections of three types characterized by a common:
  1. Taxonomic group - Collection of various regulogs analyzed within a particular taxonomic group of closely related genomes.
  2. Transcription factor - Collection of cognate regulogs operated by orthologous TFs in multiple taxonomic groups of genomes.
  3. Metabolic pathway or biologocal process - Collection of multiple regulogs controlling transcription of genes from a particular metabolic pathway or a biological process.
