Transcription factor ZntR from the MerR protein family regulates zinc resistance in Proteobacteria. ZntR bind to the promoter regions of genes for a zinc-translocating ATPase and is responsible for their high expression when cells are exposed to elevated levels of zinc ions [16753059].
