The reconstructed regulons in this subset mainly include genes encoding catabolic enzymes and associated uptake transporters that participate in the carbohydrate utilization metabolic pathways. Most of these regulons are relatively small in size (local regulons) and have a specific carbohydrate as an inducer/co-repressor.
